My Z5 compact has stopped giving sound notifications for texts and emails, it just vibrates.  I use the 'do not disturb' at night and sound notifications are on in settings.  I have tried changing the sound and restarting the phone.  What else can I do?

I have been using the Clean Master app and wondered if this was the problem.  I have uninstalled it and I now receive sound notifications.  I am pleased that the problem is solved, but I had become used to the silence!  Are cleaning apps worthwhile on phones?

Once you take it off do not disturb, you also have to turn the volume back up.
The setting immediately after do not disturb, is Vibrate only.

Also check your event end times in smart connect app.

I have just checked the volume and set it to high.  I cannot find event times in the Smart App settings.  How do I do a factory reset, and what do I lose as a consequence?

Look in Settings >Sound and notifications >Do not disturb >Automatic rules and check the end times for week day and week end.

If you are going to try a factory reset (a bit premature as yet) you need to make a complete back up with Sony Xperia Companion on your PC first or else everything will be lost.

So many options to try before factory reset tbh,
Settings, sounds and notifications, check ALL volumes are turned up, pick a new notification sound using the menu in that section.
Make sure do not disturb is not activated, now text yourself and see.
