New Phone

I am about to buy a Samsung S4 but not from O2. Once I have bought it I want to keep my O2 account and my phone number. Can anyone give my step by step info. I'm getting on a bit (78) and although reasonably PC literate, I have no experience at all on android phones...

TIA for any help....

Yes it is a smartphone...
Register at www.google.co.uk and write down your email address and password.
When you first set up your S4 it will ask you for those details.

Ooookay! So, can I fix up a gmail account from my PC and then link up from my phone afterwards? The phone is ordered and should be here in a few days, so I have plenty of time to get ready..! slight_smile

Incidentally, I checked back and the seller describes it as a "Smartphone". Is that different...?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

You can also add your contacts to Gmail whilst on the PC and when you get the phone they will automatically sync up once you sign in.

Once you get the phone you can download the google authenticator (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.authenticator2&hl=en_GB) and set up 2-step authentication on your account for better security.
