Moto G5 software / security updates

Just noticed my phone is still running Android 7 & the security patch is dated 1 Jan 17.

I know the G5 is still awaiting the Oreo update but 7.1.1 was released a few months ago & several security patches have also been released. Never had an Android phone before, so how do I go about getting these updates.

I’ve tried settings & it says it’s up to date.. but I know it isn’t.. (I’ve searched Google before I came here)

Same here old software will there be a update what about VOLTE and Wifi calling on this phone with the new software if o2 put it out

I had to send my phone off for repair and O2 upgraded the security software to 1 August 2017, but we’re still stuck on 7.0...

what's the the point of having a system update checker on your phone if they aren’t released. fml

Hi are there any further updates on this?  Moto G5 still showing Nov 2017 security updates, and no mention of the Oreo update?

Motorolla says its pending partners, and o2 chat said it's for google to do, which doesnt seem right - can anyone shed any further light?

@Chris_K, you seem to be the in the know fellow in these parts - what are the chances?
