Only a few months back I recieved my S5 back after a repair I had to fight with o2 to get done, after I suffered a known bug with the camera completely failing. It took what felt like days to back it up and restore everything afterwards, and I'm reluctant to do so again.
I'm curious as to whether the bugs I'm experiencing are what others are experiencing too (and hopefully a fix will be released), or if it's just me and I'm going to be forced to spend a lot of time losing and restoring data again....
(1) Device intermittently doesn't time-lock. The screen shuts down after a minute, but for a short while (that's longer than the 5 seconds I set it up for), I can simply get back into the device without my fingerprint being required. This is intermittent. The device still locks straight away when using the power button.
(2) Text messages sometimes take a long time to send, in the end I switch off the screen and come back to it to see if the text was sent yet. We're talking minutes of staring at the screen for a text to send but being stuck on 'sending'. If I restart the device, it will turn round and say some messages didn't get sent that it said it had sent before restarting. Meaning I have to press to resend to get the exclaimation warning to go away, or be forced to delete the message and lose it form my records.
(3) After updating an app, I need to press on "move to SD card" again, on an app that was already moved to SD card.
(4) The device will often freeze for minutes on end, making me unable to do anything, even making a phone call. This can happen at any time without warning, or the device will respond but be very 'laggy'.
(5) Device getting hot during the times that it runs slow
(6) Battery is draining. Whether it's being used or in my pocket, within 2 hours of leaving my house it can often be around 50%. Infact, even if I am using the device, it's reporting that the android / system, is using MORE power than the screen whilst the screen is on!!
(7) Turning off notifications from a particular app, only sees that option to get changed back by itself! I have some apps that insist on giving me annoying notifications, and in the app menu where 'move to SD card' is, pressing the 'show notifications' button only takes effect for a short while until it decides to change the option back again.
(8) Often when turning on the screen, the arrow pointing to the fingerprint reader doesn't move, and it wont read my fingerprint when I put my thumb over it. To check that it's not just because it's frozen (again), I put my finger on the screen on things to stop it timing out, but the fingerprint reader still doesn't become available until I switch off the screen and switch it back on again!
Edit: (added)
(9) Pressing on a notification such as a missed call, text message or facebook message, fails to get rid of the notification even when the text message is read, or the notification is pressed several times.

The first thing to try is any updates, a factory reset and take it from there. I certainly wouldn't be sending it to O2 again for repair, definitely deal with Samsung.

Just for further information purposes, GSam Battery Monitor, an app I use to monitor time left charging, discharging, and battery use, is reporting that "Kernel (Android OS)" and "Android System" are the power suckers here. In 2 minutes 40 seconds of being on battery, with the screen on, the screen has used 42% of the total used power in that time, whilst app usage is 55%. That's right, it's using more power than if the screen was on at all times!
I have double checked I have the latest updates by using the OTA update now, I'll double check with Kies, I was just hoping I guess, that someone was going to say "They know about this bug and a fix is on the way" so that I wouldn't have to spend hours setting up my phone again.
I'm guessing that it's just me experiencing these bugs? Time to spend my Sunday backing up my phone /sob
Thanks guys lol
