Intermittent network connection on HTC One

Anonymous

Hello,

I'm new to O2 but unfortunately have an intermittent issue where although the phone reads as 'In Service' and I may even have a H or 3G Icon signifying data - None of the network functions work.

Attempting to use data results in the upload arrow flashing in the menu bar, but never the download one, and connections soon timeout.

Texts and calls fail too, with incoming calls going straight to voicemail.

Strangely, moving out of range of the current tower seems to sort things out, with everything working smoothly until, with no interaction from me, it will cease to work again after a short while.

Changing the network mode (2G/3G) sometimes has a similar effect, too.

I have no battery saver apps or modes enabled and have tried jiggling every setting I can find to little or no avail.

So I am left wondering if it is a hardware issue (which seems strange given that it works flawlessly some of the time), A network issue, or both.

I have already spoken to a store guru, who swapped my sim over, but that had no effect either, so I'm turning to the forums for help.

Thanks

Disabled voicemail yesterday, But everything is still just as flaky.

I am going to attempt to get a repair / replacement, so we will see how that goes.
