Is anyone else having problems with Gmail (as in receiving notifications from forum?)

I use gmail 99% for this forum. All worked ok while I was away for weekend. Emails from here came in as normal.

Since 2pm today they have stopped.

I have tested it by sending myself an email from my btinternet account. That came into gmail. A friend has sent me an email to gmail address. That also came in.

So by a process of elimination, it looks as if it's O2 related??.

Just for info, Gmail is on my Note 8. Also via Outlook on my PC (set up in 2 separate accounts ie btinternet and gmail)

Just checking if anyone else is having the same issue?

I set posts as spam exempt on gmail - testing to see if this works...

It doesn't appear to be just a Gmail problem.

I use Outlook (Hotmail) and all 02 emails are now going in to my junk folder there as well.   Never did it before.   Marking them as 'not junk' and transferring them to my inbox makes no difference, as the next one ends up in junk again.

Has O2 changed their ISP? 🤣

Or their email address?

If this happens to new members who just log on here to ask a question, then O2 could have a major issue. People won't come back to see the response if their emails from here are going into spam folder!

Yep, that might have done it.
@Cleoriff try following the instructions on the below link.
Just tested and the email went to my inbox rather than spam.
https://www.jotform.com/help/404-How-to-Prevent-Emails-from-Landing-in-Gmail-s-Spam-Folder
The problem is that this will only work if people set up the filter. If they don't know to do this then unless/until something changes then for most notifications will still go to spam...

@gmarkj

That's a great article. However I presume that's for a mobile?

My gmails on my phone have started coming into my inbox (once I move them from spam on my pc)

My problem is, I rarely use my phone for the forum. I use my laptop. We have tried creating a rule on the PC to send all forum emails to inbox and it doesn't work.

Just to add, my pc is set up using Outlook. My btinternet emails com into one section of outlook, my gmails come into the lower section.

No, I used the gmail website to set it up and it worked fine on both the web and the app.
I would guess you could set it up on the website and it would filter through to Outlook.

Thanks @gmarkj

I tried it using gmail website and it works...

But now begs another question:

Why is O2 forum not "recognised" by gmail?
