Galaxy S7 seal broken

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi I got a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge today from the O2 store.

Once I got home, I went to open it and noticed that the seal had been broken.

On opening the box I noticed that there was a finger print on the box.

I was annoyed at first, then checked everything else and everything seems ok...

I I set the phone up etc and thought it will be ok.

However now it is bugging me, got the phone 3 days before release and why was it opened?!?!

On the seal it says "Do not accept if seal is broken. Caution sealed package. If seal has been broken or tampered with, do not give clear receipt unless contents are examined in presence or delivering agent".

It is really annoying me now, I may take it back and cancel the contract as in 14 day period; unless they give me another handset which is sealed!

What do you think?

I've been waiting all day today, no one has come yet...

I spoke with o2 again to make sure what should I do if the seal is open and they are assured me that it won't be as they are making special instructions to make sure.

Just dreading it at the moment...

This broken seal issue is getting ridiculous, anyway...

Even on standard charge it only takes about 1:45hrs to fully charge.

Initial setup and a day or two after is usually a major drain on battery life while it installs apps, updates, and syncs all your information & of course your heavy usage due to having a new phone.

Personally, I've found the battery lasts a full day with a fair bit of use although every time I look over at the display I notice it's lost another 1-2% of battery life - I wish the always-on display had an option to disable battery level because watching the battery drop when you've not even been using it does play on your mind even if it's totally normal.

I'd like to offer some sense of how long my battery lasts but due to the settling down period i mentioned above I don't think I have a stable baseline for battery life - but I travelled to some low signal areas, showed the phone off to a few friends & downloaded 5gb of content via wifi & an hour or so VR play (Gear bought seperately) + my usual usage for text/calls, & I got a full days use out of it (9am-1am and hit 13% battery life.)

Most Android phones are designed to go a full day under "average" use.
Light users will obviously get more but as long as you are seeing a full day (around 18 hours) it's normal.

Ok so the whole door swap didn't work out, was getting told dates when they haden't even dispatched a replacement handset. I've been refused swap or return in the O2 store too even though on the receipt it cleary states:

“You’ve got 14 days to cancel or swap what you’ve bought. You can only swap it once though so you’ll need to be sure.”

So now complaint has been made and esclated...

I have a previous problem with this store and it’s staff; feel's like they are getting back at me???

I'll keep you updated.

Just a shame all this is happening; there was no need for it.
