Hi,

My application for new contract phone was rejected based on Credit history. My credit history is very good and there is no reason why should my application rejected. This is very frustring since no one from O2 is able to help me in this.

Can anyone please suggest me what needs to be done. Orange and 3 mobiles providers are happy to give me contract phone.

Kind Regards

Misba

Your credit history may have little to do with it, there are many reasons for being rejected.

Phone O2 and ask for the Credit Referrals team, who might be able to help but there is no guarantee and they might not even speak to you.

Was this an online application?

It might be worth calling o2 sales. If you are declined they won't tell you why but you could offer to put a deposit on account to see if that helps? Or perhaps you know of someone who could act as a guarantor?

It may be possible for you to have the decision changed. If you are able to produce a credit report by Experian or something similar the. It could be used as proof that you have good credit history.

I am sure it is. I wasn't making an opinion on your suitability, we are just customers on here. Was just thinking of ways to make it happen for you.

All companies are tightening up their credit criteria, have been for several years. Like you I have a great credit rating but I don't take anything for granted anymore.

You can get a free 30 day trial with Experian so you can look at your credit report and find out what the problem may be. Just remember to cancel the trial at the end of 30 days or they will start to bill you monthly.

How long have you been at your present address? Sometimes an address will show up linked to a previous bad risk.

I am staying on this address from past 3 years. Previous tenant took loans and ran away, But my recent credit card application got approved.

They probably think you're the run away person, talk to CS again and explain who you are.
