I have seen the O2 plans for iPhone 5S and it would be not good value for me to do the early upgrade. I understand that I would receive a 25% discount of my remaining bill (£320 total) then I will have to pay £47 for 4G plan (£37 3G) plus £119 = £1517

I believe that it would be easier just to buy the handset unlocked and use it with my existing plan, the problem is that I am stuck with £27 per month plan that only allows 1 GB and when I had tried to change my plan it was not possible because understandably, the best deals are for new customers only

Another option is just to switch to another provider and pay the penalty £400 and it will be cheaper. It had asked for my PAC code to keep my options open

As they say the decision is yours.

Having all the info and costs will help you make an informed choice.

You could sell your current phone to raise funds to offset against the initial cost.

If your moving networks done forget to ask for an unlock to all networks code.

It's free to contract customers.

I also choose to buy my iPhones from the Apple store sim free and unlocked but my situation is a little different as I'm on pay as you go go go and not in a long term locked in contract.
