Good afternoon everybody,
Following on the heels of the lockdown announcements earlier this week there has been a big focus on how to ensure children can get easy access to online learning. As the UK's No. 1 network we know we have a role to play, so we're proud to connect and support home schooling families during lockdown by offering 40GB of free data on us, in partnership with the Governments 'Get Help with Technology' scheme.
Our Community Calling initiative also aims to help the most vulnerable in our communities by donating unused or unwanted handsets with free data and connectivity. Anyone in the UK can get involved by donating old smartphones. It is easy to sign up online – you’ll receive a free-post donation box to post your old (but working) smartphone, to be refurbished by trusted partner Reconome. It will be data-wiped, sanitised and redistributed with user guides and PAYG SIM cards from O2. Alternatively, those who don’t have an old smartphone can choose to donate the cost of one month’s top-up for the beneficiaries by visiting hubbub.org.uk/donate-data-to-community-calling-resources.

In addition to the above, we have just announced that we’ll be zero rating online learning site Oak National Academy, so home schooling families will be able to access it for free on our O2 network.
We're working very closely with the Oak National Academy to make this happen ASAP - more details to follow.

We're pleased to announce that from today, all O2 customers can browse Oak National Academy for free without using any of their data allowances.
