The most up to date info is here and will be updated, you cannot end your contract because of this though, when it ends you are free to move to another provider:

O2 Email is not part of your contract, it's a freebie provided for customers use, and is provided on an "as is" basis.

Another issue that I've not seen mentioned in any of the many threads.
If you use you own router instead of the supplied one what will happen ?
I note that the FAQ states that you will continue to use your existing router, which is fine whilst remaining on the o2/Be network but what will happen during any subsequent migration when Sky consolidate the network infrastructure ?
I believe that if you have Sky BB you are forced to use their supplied router - no exceptions.

The only answer to that must come from Sky at the time, they could just as well decide to keep O2 users on the network they're on now, at least for a while.

Just wondering what will happen to the poor people who are on "BT Basic" are we going to be told we have to migrate to Sky phone system, so many questions so few answers.:smileysad:

This will not happen for a while yet, O2 have said we wil get all the info once the deal is finalised.
I doubt any existing contracts will change before they are due for renewal.

Seeing the deal hasn't gone through yet we have no idea about what the Sky offer to us will be, so quoting download limts is pointless.
They do provide unlimited broadband.

I have just ( 3 weeks ago) renewed with O2 and at the time I queried the Sky takaeover I was fobbed off.
I have been with o2 for years as I was with Tiscali when Talk Talk took over and that became an absolute disaster ( off line for weeks) and was only solved by BT who cleared my line for me!!
I hope that this does not happen with Sky but I am concerned that with the huge influx of customers they may not be able to cope.
If they change the terms of my contact ( increase price) I will feel justified in leaving

I'll be going - some of us remember Wapping and won't knowingly have anything to do with Murdoch products. But it has already been announced that we'll get a reduced email service from Sky, so why would anyone stay when they'll get less for their money. Promise of unlimited broadband is empty - O2 is unlimited.
