Two points I wish to bring up.
What happens to my router? Can't imagine Sky wanting anything to do with it. It seems that O2 have run updates on the router to manitain service quality, and let me know by email. Service has also become faster too over time probably due to this.
Can any customers of Sky (or their relatives/friends on this site) tell me of Sky support staff answering a helpdesk call at eleven o clock at night and the problem fixed there and then? Both BT and O2 have assisted me as I arrive home late and find the internet doesn't work.
Will Sky do this?

If you move to Sky the O2 Box will go with you, as they are supposed to be upgrading their network to work the same as the O2 one which they are buying.
No other news on the offer or terms from Sky to O2 customers has been made yet.
I guess all this is subject to change though.

... You're missing a vital point here -we all have a perfectly satisfactory email service from our Internet service provider. Why the €%#$ should any of us pay for these extras? Let's face it O2 has got itself into a hole and needs the money from the sale of its home broadband to pay the stupid bid that it has put in for 4G and it has sold itself out to (presumably) the highest bidder without any thought for its customers, which as a business it is entirely at liberty to do. The deal may not seem so good to Sky if enough O2 customers think about why they signed up to O2 in the first place. Any one with any sense has moved/is moving their home broadband and will follow with their mobile phone and mobile broadband as soon as any contracts allow.

I am still trying to find out what is happening ? Have the regulators approved the Sky Deal? Or are we still waiting? It is curious that Toby and Leonard have been missing from this board for a little while, Do they know something we don't? I am at pains to repeat myself I am still not and never will be for sale to Sky. I am very much of the if it ain't broke don't fix it school of thought Someone must know something by now surely While I am not in any big hurry to jump ship I will surely do so as soon as it is announced

the move to Sky doesn't seem to be going as quickly and smoothly as first anticipated does it, perhaps they've hit a snag, competition commission maybe, we live in hope
interesting that O2 are still offering half price broadband for 12 months, another sign that nothing is going to happen to quickly..

As we now know the 16 May is the earliest we will hear any kind of decision it might be time for an update on the Q&A page. Of course if OFT decide against the deal or need more reassurances then it might be all over.
