Hi everyone,
I'm feeling quite frustrated, as both Virgin Media and O2 customer service representatives seem unable to provide clear answers. I hope to get some straightforward information before I consider canceling my services with both companies.
Here's my situation: Two weeks ago, I signed up for a Virgin Media package that includes broadband, TV, and an O2 SIM with unlimited data. Prior to this, I already had three O2 SIM-only plans for myself and my kids, two of which were on rolling contracts, including my own.
I received the pre-contract information from Virgin, which included the correct O2 contract details, and both broadband and TV were installed without any issues.
However, after a week, I still hadn’t received the SIM card from O2.
I contacted O2 through Virgin Media, explained the situation, but they couldn’t find any record of my order. The customer service advisor mentioned that since my number is on a rolling contract, they could apply the same tariff to it at the same monthly rate, which I agreed to. I then received a new contract information sheet, but it stated that my data allowance was only 250GB. When I asked about the unlimited data, the advisor mentioned I'd receive the Volt benefit after 14 days.
My concerns are: Will this result in an additional contract, despite having already received pre-contract information from O2 when I signed up for the Virgin package? The O2 advisor seemed uncertain when I inquired.
Additionally, if someone has multiple O2 accounts linked to different emails, how does O2 determine which number is eligible for the Volt benefit, such as unlimited data in my case?
Thanks

All O2 sim cards registered to the same address will get double data, or unlimited if already on 250gb.
You won't have an additional contract as a) it isn;t required and b) you have just upgraded one of the contracts, however, this is a new contract bound by the new T&C's and no longer a rolling one.
