Just a quick question for O2 about the Sky take over, what will happen to MacAfee, I get my Internet Security stuff via MacAcafee all included in my broadband price, it was a deal that was being advertised when I joined O2, so what will happen about that?

Toby and team

Please would you clarify a couple of things.  Many thanks.

1.  I have three O2 e-mail addresses.  If I transfer to another ISP (not Sky), can I still use these three O2 addresses (either by logging into O2/Sky webmail, or by getting the e-mail downloaded to my PC)?  If so, is there a separate mail limit on each address?

2.  When I checked last week, Sky uses an 0844 number for problems etc.  This costs: it's not part of any BT calling plan.  So it will cost people who transfer to Sky if they have a problem.  Are there any plans to provide O2 transferees with an 0800 or 0845 number for queries and problems?

I see from the BSkyB press release that the deal is likely to complete in April.

(PS: I didn't know how to create a new query post, so I have had to post this as a reply to the previous poster.)

1. Yes, but after leaving O2 the limit will be 20 MB. Sky Yahoo is unlimited.

2. If you leave O2 and join Sky line rental & BB, calls to their 0844 support numbers are free.

Thank you Oliver.  Is it 20 MB limit per O2 e-mail address?

I have BT for line rental, which I have already paid in advance.  Also, there are exchange problems sometimes (eg, exchange floods) and BT are very good at fixing.  Neighbours not on BT complain that they don't have the line fixing info BT provide.

Point of principle I avoid dealing with "0844 companies" if at all avoidable.

20 MB per e-mail address, yes.

You can stick with BT line rental, but you might not be able to join Sky if you keep it, depending on what they offer.

Will this affect o2's free wifi hotspot service? I was thinking signing up but a bit wary now.

No, since you don't need to be an O2 customer for O2 wifi.
