4G Text Campaign

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hey Guys,

Just to confirm that we’re contacting our customers who currently have 4G ready phones as we're giving them access to 4G for nothing!

All the details on this are here http://go.o2.co.uk/got4G

Only those who currently have a 4G phone but are on 3G plans can take advantage of this offer.

The messages you may receive about this will vary depending on whether you’re currently in an area that supports 4G or not. We’ll grant all customers who own a 4G ready phone access to this offer so you’re good and ready when 4G comes to your town.

We want as many people enjoying 4G as we can, at the moment our 4G could cover 17 million people in the UK!

This is part of our 2014 4G master plan, if you have any questions or thoughts- Let us know!

If you are one of the 600,000 customers who will enjoy free 4G, please do share some speed tests with the community too!

Thanks

Brad

I have been advised that not all the areas due to upgrade will be done by the end of 2015. (Senior management at o2). In my local area in a town with 50000 populus the upgrade is due 2016 so how many other areas won't be done by 2015 I ask?

As for 2g well that's all I get at home and a weak 2g at that. You are not missing much my friend.

Can you be a bit more specific than "Senior management at o2"

OFCOM requires the coverage agreement to be met by 2017 so still within that timeframe.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Indeed MI5 but o2 have repeatedly stated they intended to get it done by 2015. Now quietly it appears that is not the case.

I've seen no evidence of this!

Sorry that's not a firm indication from O2.

Sorry but anyone could post that here and without a formal announcement it means nothing.

Until then it remains what it is - gossip!

Why is it when I put posts up on here that I constantly
get challenged and disbelieved?

I have had many issues with o2 and have been working with a senior manager to resolve them. As a courtesy to that Senior Manager I will not name names nor will I copy the correspondence on here. I have it and that is what matters.

So when I say a Senior Manager has advised. ..... That's exactly what I mean. Not a CS Manager. Not someone who says they are a manager when they aren't. No, someone high up in o2.

I appreciate some people come on here and just spout off lots of rubbish but by now I feel I should have proved myself but clearly to some that is not the case.

Hi @Anonymous

If you state your information has come from O2 Higher Management and in writing then that's good enough for me, and I assume this hopefully will be updated in o2's Network Future online info.

Official Confirmation is all I seek.
