Hey Guys,
Just to confirm that we’re contacting our customers who currently have 4G ready phones as we're giving them access to 4G for nothing!
All the details on this are here http://go.o2.co.uk/got4G
Only those who currently have a 4G phone but are on 3G plans can take advantage of this offer.
The messages you may receive about this will vary depending on whether you’re currently in an area that supports 4G or not. We’ll grant all customers who own a 4G ready phone access to this offer so you’re good and ready when 4G comes to your town.
We want as many people enjoying 4G as we can, at the moment our 4G could cover 17 million people in the UK!
This is part of our 2014 4G master plan, if you have any questions or thoughts- Let us know!
If you are one of the 600,000 customers who will enjoy free 4G, please do share some speed tests with the community too!
Thanks
Brad

Band...2015 will be the year I leave the network with all three phones my family have with o2 regardless of whether coverage improves. I wish I was a large company with 1000's subscribed so it would impact but sadly I'm not and my small disenchantment with how I was sold a pup will make not a jot of difference.

I hope the grass is greener on the other side.
Ensure whichever network you choose gives good solid signal by checking out their payg sim cards first.
Remember unlocking phones on a contract is free. Excluding the iPhone 5s/5c on refresh tariffs, where you woud need to pay off the phone plan first.
Take care.

Hey guys. I haven't had my text yet, but when I put my postcode in, I've got "excellent" 4G coverage, and my S4 is listed as my current phone. Just been on the 4G set up page and it says the next step is to get a 4G sim and then they can sort the tariff out. If I order the new sim online will it switch me to a 4G tariff automatically?

If you do not want to wait for postal delivery and you have a local o2 shop then they are available in store , free.

Hi Band - it is greener, well Orange, who I was with for years and they were fine - just couldnt match the tariff on the phone I wanted, shame as my 925 is unused. As to the free unlocking, I have just been emailed in broken English by o2 who tell me it is not eligible for free unlocking as I bought it through an online site, yet another variation on the truth from my enquiry about this from the local o2 store. You pays your money it seems!

Just fill in the online unlocking form and ignore live chat.
