I’ve not requested any change to my account and suddenly received this message from o2:

Just confirming we've now added your 10GB Volt Double Data Boost, Volt O2 Travel Inclusive Zone. This is part of your supercharged benefits with Virgin Media. You can see our terms here: https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions. Didn't ask for this change? Log in to My O2 for support or contact us on o2.co.uk/contact. Remember, you've always got the option to cancel your supercharged benefits. To do that, call us on 202.

it seems almost impossible to cancel this!!!  Even though I did not ask for it !!

furthermore, it’s costing me double my normal bill amount!!

This may help you further, @Kat99 - Volt Megaguide

It's all part of the synergies resulting from the merger of Virgin Media and O2 some years back, all explained in the link above.  Heaven knows what they will do with the news of revised talks of merging with TalkTalk this weekend... https://archive.ph/4LE0v

@Kat99

Are you also a Virgin Media customer? As this is applied automatically if you are, and why would you cancel something thats free..

You will need to call and speak to someone at both o2 and Virgin to cancel as it may also affect your Virgin Media services...

It’s free?? I’d keep it in that case.

Thanks for your help.

The customer experience on the O2 app is poor. Time I won’t get back making enquires this morning - chat bot unhelpful, call never answered, no info on my account on the change.
A simple explanation on the initial message from o2 on the change being imposed would have mitigated any further enquiry from me.

Thanks to this additional avenue of support I seem to have some answer.

happy Sunday
