I live in the Swansea area. I have no signal or reception at home. The map says I have excellent coverage but this is a lie. Whole areas of Swansea have black spots where I cannot use my data. I cannot get ANYONE at O2 TO HELP. Any ideas before I change provider? No point paying for a 30gb PLAN if I can't use my mobile to use my data

There is a good O2 shop in Swansea. I would call in with photo ID, explain your problem and get a new SIM.

If it's bad after that, so the test Sims on other  networks route

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@jasmaniac

If you're in a dead spot there's nothing anyone can do about it unless O2 invest in network expansion.

You can still use wifi calling at home but won't help with data when out and about.

Check other networks with PAYG sim cards before diving in to a new contract.

Guide: Do you have poor coverage / signal Indoors? This may help Explain / resolve it

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Are you saying you have network coverage, but are unable to specifically use mobile data? That's a capacity issue if so. Voice calls & texts should still work in this scenario.

Or are you saying your phone shows no network service whatsoever? That's a coverage issue.

The outcome is still the same, it will either need new network sites to be built, or additional capacity added to existing ones. Neither are necessarily quick.

It's about five years old. Hadn't considered that variable tbh.

Although unlikely we have had problems with SIM cards in the past.

Also, to take full advantage of 5G you need the latest which gives access to 5G Stand Alone if you present phone supports it.
