receiving multiple text messages

Hi I have an oppo lite and since my phone did an automatic update last weekend I'm getting the same messages multiple times. I had 4 separate conversations yest via text and 2 of the contacts messages have been sent over and over the other 2 are normal. I went into my app manager and messages and uninstalled and it went to factory rest just for my messages. I thought it might have worked but I've had a text about an hr ago from next and it's come through 3 times!

Any help would be appreciated

Unfortunately I can report similar problem on motorola g13 on O2 in UK, unreliable SMS receipt and multiple SMS msgs.  There are a lot of similar reports only on O2 so far with g13 over on motorola/lenovo community forum since about a month ago.  The only workaround that works so far is to force 3G, but obviously that's a huge compromise and the problem needs sorting.

Anyone know of other workarounds ?

According to 2 sources the motorola g13 also uses a Mediatek chipset.

As you said, drop your handset down to 3G/2G from the default 4 or 5.

Otherwise, it is a waiting game.
