Switching from pay as you go to monthly

I recently switched from Pay as You Go to a monthly set debit amount and was sent a new SIM card. I want to keep my old number but the online form that I was told to fill in hasn't worked since I got my new SIM 2 weeks ago!! I am now paying for something I cannot use, thankfully I still have credit on my old number so am using that up but is there another way to keep my old number or is the online form likely to be working soon? It has said experts are working on it but as I say its said that for a fortnight!

You are best contacting Customer Services on 202 from your o2 phone and it can be done a lot quicker
