Hiya

I hope everyone is having a great Thursday 😀

My number was moved from 3 to O2 this morning and since then i've not been able to use iMessage, RCS seems to work sometimes but it just has a mind of it's own. Everytime i click on my number a little circle just spins next to it until eventually it says activation failed. I spoke to Apple who told me to check if i had international SMS on my O2 account, O2 said yes i do have it, but Apple are saying that it's down to O2. I just was wondering if anyone else has had any issues like this and would know what to do?

Thank you

- Claire

I would suggest you ask customer service to enable iData on your account

Social media may be your best option apart from X(Twitter)

@ClaireSt80

Sometimes it takes a few days for O2 to update your number on the servers.

A couple of things to try.

1 - A simple reboot of your phone.

2 - Reset your network settings.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks for replying so quick 😁.

I've tried those things with Apple earlier, I'll wait a few days and try again. Do you think that RCS and iMessage will start working at the same time once i'm fully on the servers?

Ok I'll give that a go tomorrow. What exactly is iData if you don't mind me asking?

iData is needed for the APN setting

iMessage and visual voicemail won't work without it

Not sure about RCS to be honest, I think that's an O2 server setting which will probably update after your phone is fully registered on the servers

iData is what tells the system you are using an iPhone.

Have you checked your number in Settings >Apps >Phone >My number?

Thanks for the info guys, I'll get on to customer service tomorrow. @MI5 I checked my number earlier and it is the number that was ported in from 3 today, I'll just give customer service a call tomorrow and see what they say.

Thanks for all of your help 😀

If your VVM is working, you are setup OK already.

Just give it a few days for your number to update.
