I am in Spain but unable to get my emails. I did and the start of my visit. Now being informed there is a problem with the server. Offers to fix but can’t. Any suggestions on how to fix

This is nothing can O2 can control.
Either your email settings are incorrect, you don't have a data connection or the ports used by your email provider are being blocked by the network you are connecting to.
Try removing your email account from phone and running it again through an auto setup routine.
