I cannot use the internet unless I am near a router therefore I cannot use things like Maps or searches when I am not in the house.

You need to check that mobile data is enabled on your phone and that apps have permission to use it.

Sounds like there is a problem with your mobile data @LW-209 .
Do you have an active bundle/pay monthly tariff and do you still have data available?
Do you have any issues with calls and texts while you are outside?
Has data ever worked when you are away from your house?
Answers to these would help us understand if it is a new issue or something that has been going on for a while...
