I have a contract phone currently and am planning a trip to the USA for next year. I'm pretty sure my iPhone is not locked to the network as it is a fairly new model (iPhone 12) and was wondering if it would work to put a USA sim card into my phone temporarily for the time I am away? I will obviously continue to pay my monthly rate.
Thanks!

There is no reason it shouldn't work on the likes of T-Mobile and AT&T

I just got back from a month long trip back home to the States. T-Mobile have a pay as you go app you can use to download an eSIM. On an iPhone 12, if you’ve got a physical O2 SIM you can have both lines active at the same time and set the T-Mobile service as your preferred data plan
I opted for their $35 12gb plan but there’s also a $50 for unlimited data option. I know that sounds pricey relative to the UK market but it’s a good deal in the States.
Here’s a link to the app:
