But am I the only one that spends far too long trying to find the tab that opens a text-based tech support conversation?

I just go round in circles until I stumble upon it! 

All I want is a contract sim and 02 don't want to send one out to me.

@Nooo If you click on the Shop link at the top of the page during business hours a chat box usually pops up.

You say you work business hours? That shouldn't be a problem for contacting O2 as they are open until 9pm during the week. Saturday they work from 8-8pm and Sunday 8am -6pm. These are times to suit everyone, particularly those like yourself who work business hours https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus
