The last week I’ve been getting a number of texts and phone calls saying that they’ve had a missed call from my number. They seem genuine in the fact that they’re returning a call from my number even though I’ve never seen their number or placed any calls to it. The frequency of these calls and texts has increased to a dozen or so a day.
I contacted O2 through WhatsApp who suggested the cause is something called Spoofing. I didn’t really understand the concept and there didn’t seem any advise on how to make it stop.
Further to this I’ve just checked my bank account to see a £39.20 payments made to O2 Balanceweb UK. Is this related or something less untoward? Any help much appreciated.
Thanks.
