Hi, my son has just bought a new first phone (new first numbr) I can call him and whatsapp him ok but if I text him it goes to a different number, but is displayed on the same string of text messages as if he has received the text. My partner has no problems with text from his phone

Thank you for your help. I managed to find a phone number for O2 technical support and they have just changed the number. Hopefully this will sort the problem. Thanks again

Check the number your phone has saved for messages.
If an iPhone, Settings >Phone >My Number
If Android, open message app >Settings >General >Phone Number

You need to look in the settings for the message app.
Open message app then tap the 3 dots top right.

Unfortunately I don't have a Samsung on hand to check, but somewhere in text messages or chat settings there will be a phone number.
This needs to be your number.
