I've just moved over from Plusnet EE onto an O2 SIM only monthly tariff. All's gone well, but I have one question. I have a Pixel 6a running up to date Android. In my Settings under 'About Phone' it shows the phone number as 'Unknown'. Likewise, under 'Phone number on SIM' its 'Unknown'.

A quick Google search seems to indicate that this is standard with O2. Can someone confirm that this is normal?

Yes, perfectly normal. O2 don't push numbers to sim cards.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Because iPhones need a number to enable iMessage and Facetime and is written into the software to be writable.
