So on Friday I noticed my phone would not send messages or allow me to call
it says limited service
you can only make emergency calls when trying to use it
i have also tried to text my number and call but they don’t work
Says you have dial’ ed an incorrect number!
its a payg number that gets used daily and top up every month!
but it seems like its been disconnected!

Could be a sim or phone fault.
Pop in store with photo ID for a new free sim.
If you can try another sim sim your phone it will guide you towards the fault.

O2 are not turning off 2G as yet except for maintenance. They will start switching off 3G next year, which is roughly 12 months behind other operators.
Whether O2 allow PAYG phones the ability to make calls over 4G or alternatively close down the PAYG service is up for debate. But as of now nothing is changed
