Even after 3 weeks (with contact to O2) they still can't sort the problem.

Are you trying to reach the UK-based Social Media team, @TerryG1948?
Results from them, after a degree of persistence on your side, are usually very good.
Your account nay need to be reset on the O2 side to fix your issue, putting you out of voice, SMS and cellular data reach for a short while (home WiFi should still work):
