I can’t log into my account because it wants me to verify my phone number and to do this I need to receive a text. I am in Australia and can’t receive a text on the number

SMS are always free to receive, wherever you are in the world, @Sean20 - is there another reason why your phone is unable to receive the text message?
You could also use the MyO2 app, I have never had the App make me use an OTA PIN. https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-o2
