Hello, I am in Australia and on arrival noticed I no longer have the ability to make or receive phone calls or texts.

Can someone help sort out what I need to do to re-enable these options please?

thankyou!

You need to contact customer service
We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 using the links below, they should be able to help you with this
or give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202
There is a free number from your O2 handset
Try a manual search for a different network

Hi

it MAY well be that this is because your phone has been blocked by the networks in Australia because it doesn't meet certain criteria, it's all to do with the fact that 3G has been/is being switched off and between the govt and the Australian telcos some phones are being blocked. This doesn't mean that there's going to be an issue when you come back to uk, just that it's an issue whilst yr in Aus. Lots of stuff online about this - this video gives a good overview of the situation https://www.reddit.com/r/TelstraAustralia/s/YKGjXeKKr

Might be other reasons why you've got issues of course but could well be due to what's happening with the switch off. (I am off to Aus in January and have no idea if my Samsung S24 ultra will be ok😕)

Looks like all PAYG phones roaming in Australia will be locked out of the Aus Networks, as they dont support VoLTE..  unless they roam into Vodafone AUS

A very backwards move by the networks in Australia.

@Tania28445  as long as you aren't on PAYG you will be all good to to..

@Tania28445 Your S24 with VoLTE (4G calling) turned on should be OK

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
