Hi, Received my new phone Saturday and yesterday my number ported over from EE. Everything seems fine except I can't activate Imessage for my phone number. The option is there but if I click on it it just says 'an error occurred during activation'. I've tried various fixes suggested online but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

As O2Sarah- has not come back, passing this into @O2Ryan for follow-up.

@O2Ryan Hi Ryan any chance you could give me a shout, i have the imessage/facetime authentication issue. Just come over from EE to O2. Ive been through all the things that the internet recommends and none has worked. Spoke with apple this morning and they got me to text 'Help' to this number 48369, the message would not send, this then confirms to Apple that it is a carrier issue (I'm able to send texts to anyone else). Ive spoken with O2 this morning and unfortunately they couldn't help.

Hi,

Has anybody actually had this issue

resolved yet? I’m experiencing the exact same issue where my number was ported form EE to 02. Spoke to @O2Ryan yesterday who has raised an incident for me and I’ve got to wait 5 days but just wondering if this has ever been resolved for anybody yet?

Whenever I’ve spoken to 02 they say it’s Apples issues and when I speak to Apple they say it’s an 02 issue.

Also Apple got me to try the 48369 number too and it’s a completely invalid number. Get anybody to text that number and it won’t work, no idea why Apple are saying we should be able to send an SMS to it.

Following this thread as I'm in exactly same position, lucky I'm in the 14 days cooling off so I can just go back to EE and cancel my contract

how can this happen to so many people and not be sorted

For some on Virgin Media community, txt'ng HELP to 51369 works?

No iPhone here, so not sure what that is meant to do... But 48369 definitely fails.

Info on the short code here: https://support.apple.com/en-mz/HT202753

Seems there's a 12.5p charge for calling that short code - tread carefully!

And, needless to say, no -  O2's Premium Service Checker service knows nothing of that one:
