Hi, Received my new phone Saturday and yesterday my number ported over from EE. Everything seems fine except I can't activate Imessage for my phone number. The option is there but if I click on it it just says 'an error occurred during activation'. I've tried various fixes suggested online but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

Worth checking with O2 that you have iData activated on your account.

If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.
Thanks.

Yes number shows correctly in there and shows under Imessage and Facetime but can't be selected in either. Tried switching them off and restarting, tried logging out of Icloud etc.

@Jamflem and @Darren1968 - someone who can access your account is needed, contact O2 via social media on any of the links just below or call 202 for Contract or 4445 for PAYG at around 08:15 to get them to check. Good luck!

Thanks,

I did call 2 days ago and was told easy to sort will be working in 24 hours, That didn’t work, have tried the social media route, no answer, chased up and was told they have message will respond as busy, 8 hours later no reply, what a joke of service, wish I hadn’t signed up with them,

how the hell do I get this sorted as I need iMessage and FaceTime working.

Now to top it off, still no reply from messenger, however got through on phone again, o2 state it’s not their problem I have to contact apple, Imessage worked fine until I ported number, in fact still does on email address, only part that won’t work is the phone number, never known such a useless company in my life, stuck now with a sim for 18 months I can’t use, only solution is to port my number elsewhere, throw this sim away and just pay the bill. I was considering changing my other phone contracts over if all was well, however after this treatment that won’t be happening.  I can’t believe after more than 24 hours the Facebook messenger team haven’t even come back to me.

@Darren1968 - I'll tag @O2Sarah- who is on from tomorrow around 8am, perhaps she can help get you back on the airwaves. Watch out for a PM from her, good luck 🤞
