Allows you to connect a cable that is USBC both ends into the older style square USB outlet on one end, @Stacieblake88:

It's so you can use your old charging plug with the new style cable.

As it will link a USB A cable to USB C

So in summary @Stacieblake88 

Yes, you get a charging cable, no plug, but an adapter to allow you to use a current charger that you have from a previous phone.
