It still uses your data as normal but the root cause is that you don't have iData enabled on your account.

Call O2 when you get home to add it to your account and then reset your network settings or revert back to idata.o2.co.uk for your apn.

Change your data apn to "mobile.o2.co.uk"

That does work thanks. Does it still use my normal data allowance and do I need to do anything else when I return to UK. Thanks
