Does o2 think it's acceptable to say there's an issue with the mast in my area that may affect calls and data for uo to 2 weeks?

Could be lots of reason for that timescale of which we are not aware.
Do O2 find it acceptable? Well we are all customers here and can't answer that, but I guess it was a rhetorical question, anyway.

Unacceptable but also unavoidable.
Many factors can effect a timeline for repairs.
