Hello,
Just checked my O2 bill online and it shows that I have been charged 3 times for a single text message which I sent from the UK to a number abroad.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Thanks.

That's 3 messages then. Spaces and smilies count as characters.

How long was the message ? If it was over 160 characters it would have charged you more than one message, and they will show as sent at the same time or with1 or 2 seconds apart.

This happened to me a couple of times when in Spain. I checked with Customer services. One was an error on O2's part .....the second was my mistake...(I didn't think the text had sent...so sent it again)

Many thanks for the quick response.
Do spaces count as characters? The message was 321 chars (no spaces)/ 411 chars (with spaces).
Thanks again.

I think you have had your answer now. You sent what was counted as 3 messages...
