Hi , i am George , 58 year old male , got new phone galaxy ace 2 months ago , never use it for internet use / data etc , just purely phone , but geo charged 15 quid last month for usage of wi fi , argued the point of never use it , but they say i should have switched it off from roaming ??? am sorry i not cleaver on this , but think it unfare to charge me for some thing i never used , any one know of this please ???

You need to turn off data, there is no charge for using wi-fi:
Menu> Settings> Wireless and Network> Mobile Networks> Use Packet Data> Disable
Data Roaming> Disable.
