i'm out of contract, on SIM only deal., paying monthly.
I do not have the SIM card any more.
I do not live in the UK now so am not able to receive messages on the number you have.
I am unable to enter a current (non-uk) number into this site.
Please cancel the contract . I am not interested in any other deals with O2.
Please take this as 20 days notice of cancellation
Please confirm you will cancel this ASAP\

thanks - i'm trying this approach as the online chat is useless, and i don't have a way of easily phoning the UK from here... oh well..... lets see if they reply this time. Also on one of the o2-ireland community forums i stumbled across , they seemed to cancel from requests on there.

Unfortunately the O2-IE site is run differently with far more input from customer support. This forum only has an admin team that control the forum and therefore whilst we can advise fellow customers for account issues you need to contact customer service directly via the numbers given above or in writing.
