@trickyday

The only way that is possible is if you buy your phone outright.

You can buy on credit from all the phone manufacturers or major retailers.

If you upgrade with O2, you need to take a new tariff too.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks for that. Given that the O2 mobile coverage in my area is so bad and that the phone ugrade is such a rip off it must be time for a change of supplier ☹️

Go for it, @trickyday Coverage and signal strength in the areas you frequent most should always be the priority and the deciding factor. Best way to find that out is to get Pay & Go sims from the other providers and also ask friends who use them.

Good deals on all networks here @trickyday

https://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/

Check for the best coverage in your area with free PAYG sims before you decide.

You might be able to improve things @trickyday using the following :-

Guide: How can I sort out my network issues?

Guide: Is the network down for me or everyone?

My Network App - Find Out More About Your Network Coverage | Apps | O2

https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network

Whether or not this is worthwhile depends on how soon you are thinking of leaving. 👍

Or it's just an O2 dead spot and leaving is the only solution.
