I am trying to switch my old O2 number to my new O2 contract sim. have tried doing it online but i fill all my details out and the submit but it says it can't do it right now and that someone is working on it. but have had that the last two days, thought it would be fixed by now if this is the only way to do it right now. as the i try and phone and say what i want to do and it just says try the website, and then says bye and hangs up. Assum I will not be charged anything on my old contract if O2 will not let me cancel it in time

@mcane102

You need to call and ask O2 to migrate your old number to new account.

This automatically cancels your old account.

You cannot do it online and do not cancel old account first as you may lose your number.

Numbers for O2 here Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Or 202 from your O2 mobile.
Advice from an O2 Guru to get through:
When you call 202, you will be asked for the reason you are calling.
Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
You can also try saying "Upgrade" or "Fraud" to be connected to an advisor.

Calling around 8.00am is the best time to try.
