I received a taxt from o2 informing me that calls to channel islands mobiles will not be included in "free minutes" from 4th december. As one of my sons lives there, this will leave me with a real problem !

I understand about the calls to Jersey but what about the other mobile numbers that have been taken off the inclusive minutes? Ones that begin 0740 0741, 07753 etc? Are the ones that have taken off ALL Jersey mobiles? If so how on earth do we avoid calling them without knowing?
Is there a way to block them on a pay monthly contract in the UK for instance?

it has it here, now 35p per minute

These are some of them, then that page goes on to other mobile numbers that are now excluded from the inclusive minutes.

Good point. As far as I can see there is no way of knowing, which is quite disturbing

These are the only Guernsey mobile numbers on the list: 07781, 07839 and 07911. Jersey ones are 07797, 07700 and 07829. No idea what all of the others are though.

You still won't know as numbers from other networks have been ported for years.
There must be thousands of people there with non-Channel Island numbers.

I'm in the same position - contract until June 2015 and my parents in Jersey are really the main people i call. I was advised to buy the international calling card but when i tried to use it i was then told it wouldn't work for the jersey landline number i was trying. Does anyone know if the card doesn't work for Channel Islands? Also, does the International bolt on, where you can select 3 favourite numbers to call for an extra £10 work for Jersey?
The 'offer' of 30 minutes for an extra £5 per month is an outrageous price increase given that i entered in to this contract expecting Jersey to be included in my allowance. I will barely use my inclusive minutes now and am unable to contact my parents without paying through the roof - for the next two years!
Has anyone tried the ombassman?

I doubt the Ombudsman will be able to help as the Channel Islands were never in the terms of your contract, O2 were the only network to add them in.
See Toby's post on page 2 of this thread for the explanation from O2.
Are you not able to use TuGo or Skype for calls?

I'm going down the ombudsman route.
Will let you know how it works out.
Trying to find a copy of the wording of the letter but suspect I binned.

Good luck all pay monthly tariffs since feb 2010 said they were not included but o2 gave them as a bonus and gave 30 days notice that they would be charged and costs involved .
