hi

I am a virgin media customer and just renewed my VM contract for TV, broadband etc

I was informed that O2 and VM are now working together, so part of my new VM contract is an O2 unlimited data, unlimited text and unlimited calls sim card, which I will be receiving shortly.

I currently use GiffGaff which I like as there is no contract and I CAN NOT go over my limits in terms of calling premium numbers that are extra costs - GiffGaff simply blocks these calls and texts. This means I know I will only pay the exact same bill every month.

My question is, does the O2 sim operate in the same way. I understand it is unlimited on everything, but presume that does not include premium numbers, international calls etc. and these will be charged in addition to the standard monthly charge.

I want the O2 sim to block these type of calls, like GiffGaff does so I can not get additional charges unexpectedly.

Is the blocking standard or something I need to request?

Appreciate any help on this please.

regards

Rob

@rajbob You need to contact O2 and ask them to place the following bars on your account:
Bar all Direct to bill debits
Bar Premium rate numbers
You should also ask for a "charge to mobile" bar

Call 202 from your mobile or 0800 032 1402 from any phone or numbers here: Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.
You can also reach O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB), Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW), or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)
Or you can call them on 0800 081 0255

Just to add to the great advice above from @Bambino, you should also ask for a £0 (zero) spend cap @rajbob.

Guide: Spend caps on O2

This should pick up anything missed out by the others.
