Welcome to the Isle Of Man?

Anonymous
Not applicable

I keep getting texts from O2 saying welcome to the Isle of Man.You're on O2 travel so data is just £1.99 for each day.....blah blah..

Hang on....I've never been to the Isle of Man and I certainly do not want to be paying for data usage twice!

How can I stop this?

Your phone must be connecting to a foreign network.

OK Jonsie I've set to manual! Thanks.

Hopefully next time I drive up the coast it won't pick up network from IOM!

Unfortunately now every time the signal drops the Network Operators settings page opens.

If this is open when the alarm goes off I have to turn my phone off to turn the alarm off or wait 5mins before able to turn it off.

It will do because it requires you to manually select a network each time.
Try turning off data roaming - this will at least prevent charges for roaming on the foreign network (you can leave phone on automatic selection too).

Data not required to receive a normal text message.

Everyone gets the welcome text when they arrive in a foreign country.
