Good morning @anton1201.
As long as you do not dial into your voicemail whilst you're in Egypt, you will not be charged for any messages your customers may leave.
The link below provides additional information about voicemail, which may be helpful:

Have a safe trip and welcome to the forum.

@anton1201 If you follow the link that @Glory1 has pointed you to, you will see that you can also change your voicemail message to let you know your customers that you are away. You can let them know that you will return their calls when you return, so you won't have to dial in while you're in Egypt and get charged.

Actually @anton1201 this is a very debatable subject which has been discussed some time ago.
The query was raised when someone wrote here to say they had been charged for voicemail when they hadn't listened to any calls. One of the threads here
The consensus then was, you would be charged as your phone is actually receiving a call from O2 to a foreign network. The fact you aren't picking up the call is irrelevant in some cases.
If you dialled in to listen to the call, you would be charged again.
The caller would also be charged for making the call to a foreign country.
Bottom line there are many ways of setting up voicemail,
You need to set it up as *Call divert to unreachable*
Not Reachable Divert
To activate ** 62 * phone number # SEND
To cancel ## 62 # SEND
To check status * # 62 # SEND
Another way to set this up is shown in the same thread by @darrengf
Sorry if this has caused confusion but it really is down to how you set up your voicemail diverts.
Just simply leaving voicemail on means you WILL be charged whether you answer the call or not
Hope this helps

Just to add further info about voicemail charges then please read this @anton1201
Q) Why am I charged twice for Voice Mail Messages?
A) When someone tries to contact you and you don’t answer, the call is then passed back to the O2-UK voice mail as a return call, So you pay for the Return part of the call even though you didn’t answer your Mobile. Then when you want to listen to your voice mail, you pay to make the call and listen to it. So this is where Double Charges apply

I have saved the information you've provided @Cleoriff with my saved emails as it's very useful, and I had forgotten the previous queries, so thank you very much.
I appreciate this information's already incorporated in @darrengf's guide on international roaming but perhaps it should also either be added to 'All you Need to Know about Voicemail' guide or set up as a separate guide on voicemail when roaming @Martin-O2, @Marjo, @EmilieT? This is bound to be raised again and having the information in one place could prove useful.

As I said above @Glory1 I only knew this because of a discussion we had on here before where I was involved. (The thread I linked to didn't involve me.. I couldnt find that one which was posted in 2015 I think)
We had to ask the then community manager for clarification and he confirmed it)
I admit to taking about 30 minutes to get all the information together before I posted. Moving from one thread to the next and opening up the O2 voicemail abroad link (which I found after a google search)
Of course it's different again if you are within the EU...
Which is why we generally advise everyone to turn voicemail OFF before travelling.
I don't think @anton1201 realised that his customers would be charged for the call either as they are calling a country outside of the EU.
So I think Using Voicemail when Abroad is an excellent idea for another guide.

Thanks for all the feedback however I still seem to have conflicting answers
i totally understand the concept of paying to receive a call and the. Paying for it going to voicemail and then paying if I wish to listen to it, I have searched all the threads and links
what I am trying to find out is if I divert all calls straight to voicemail while in the uk then the calls should not reach the connection abroad as should be going straight to voicemail from the UK I did find One poece of text on o2 website that o2 will never charge for voice massages unless they are listened to so I am just trying to find out will it go straight to voicemail without going abroad and then I am only charged if I decide to call my voicemail to listen to it
