Voicemail from Austria

Anyone know how to access UK voicemail from Austria.  Yes, I tried 901, +44901, 0044901, 1780. None connect, all get Austrian operator.   CS useless of course.

Try calling your own mobile number, as sometimes this gets you into your voicemail..

Nope,  tried all the numbers, can't access UK 02. 

Customer service useless :  Bot too busy to deal with customers.  Phone line too busy to deal with customers. No email queries.  As suggested, downloaded the App,  surprise surprise, too busy to deal with customers.  Waited for an hour on the phone to an Asian call centre, then finally got a girl who did not understand that I could not access UK voicemail. After I waited further for her to read her instructions, she told me how to change my voicemail PIN.  When I told her again that I could not access UK voicemail, she hung up.

Thanks bambino. I have travelled abroad several hundred times since I got this number 15/20 years ago , several dozen since I got this handset, and a dozen since I renewed my O2 contract nearly 3 years ago.  I have never had to call to activate my O2 voicemail and it has worked abroad every time. So, it would never occur to me to have done it this time. 

If that is the solution, thanks. I will try it when I get back home.
