Upgrading and billing

My contract isn’t due to end until March 2021, but I received a message saying I can upgrade for free today and go with 02 refresh. My bill came through today and is due to go out on May 3rd.

I currently pay around £60 a month, and my new deal is £50 a month, so I definitely want to upgrade. When and what will I get billed?
I’ve read one thing that says I will be credited back a month for my old tariff, and then charged twice for my new tariff. But then another says I will he charged one months bill and an extra pro rota air time fee.

My bill this month, will that go out the same on May 3rd? And then when and what goes out?

I don’t want to call up as I don’t want to take up the phone lines for important calls.

Thanks!

Your billing date will stay the same and will be adjusted down as the new tariff is cheaper.

So on May 3rd, will I be charged £50? Or pay my £60 bill, then be charged £50 too for the new tariff?
Does anything get credited back?

No credits.

Your bill next month will be in-between 50 and 60.
