hi, I got charged £4.88 for using a service number but have not requested any service. does anyone recognise the 118505 number. is it O2 and is it possible that it could have been activated accidentally. I am new to the world of Android phones and miss my buttons!

Edited to add...its not a scam I have just checked that number. Its directory enquiries http://www.bt118500.com/118505Info
Calls to 118505 cost £4.99 per call and £1.35 per minute, plus your phone company’s Access Charge.
118 505 is the international directory enquiries number from BT.
So you must have called them at some point...

Aren't they just?! Ridiculous. Problem is a lot of people still think directory enquiries are free (as they used to be back in the day)
Yes, times long gone unfortunately. Where there's money to be ripped off there's always some shady outfit comes crawling out of the woodwork!
