Can someone please help me, I am not good with this sort of thing.  My 2 year contract with O2 ended on 15th February.  I want to keep my number and I want to stay with O2.  I found a mobile I wanted on mobilephonesdirect.co.uk but they won't accept my order and say I have to upgrade instead.  Why do I have to upgrade?  Why can't I just buy the mobile I want with a new O2 contract and use a PAC code to keep my number?

Yes, you can just buy a new contract and then ask O2 to migrate your number. No need to PAC if staying with O2.

When entering your details, do it as a new order and don't make any reference to already having a contract with O2 and wanting to keep your number. You can do that later once you have the new one.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
